Erasmus+ AFID: training on development of inclusive digital educational content

General Information

Within the framework of the Erasmus+ Project "Providing of Academic Freedom and Inclusion through Digitalization" (AFID Project), the training on the development of inclusive digital educational content was held at the University of Alcalá (Alcalá de Henares, Spain) on November 27-29, 2023. Among participants are: representatives of Royal Institute of Technology (Stockholm, Sweden), University of Lisbon (Lisbon, Portugal), University of Alcalá (Alcalá de Henares, Spain), State University of Trade and Economics (Kyiv, Ukraine), Lviv Polytechnic National University (Lviv, Ukraine), Semen Kuznets Kharkiv University of Economics (Kharkiv, Ukraine), National Technical University "Dnipro Polytechnic" (Dnipro, Ukraine) and NGO Synergy (Dnipro / Ternopil, Ukraine). 

SUTE was represented by Vice-rector for Research, Pedagogical Activities and International Relations Anzhelika Gerasymenko, Head of the Department of International, Civil and Commercial Law Natalia Mazaraki, Director of the Center for Youth and Information Policy Maria Kladchenko and Associate Professor of the Department of Tourism and Recreation Sergiy Kravtsov.

Within the training:

  • the technical design of a Multi-institutional Virtual Inclusive Campus (VIC) was presented,
  • the issues of barriers to inclusion and the role of online educational platforms in overcoming them were considered, 
  • motivation of higher education students to use inclusive online courses, the principles of universal design for online courses and practical examples of online content, methods of inclusive education and online communication tools, as well as the structure of courses and the main requirements for their creation, implementation and methodological support were discussed.

As part of the training, SUTE delegation demonstrated the experience of the University in developing inclusive video lectures via MS Teams, namely: conceptual approaches to the stylistic design of course graphic materials, the process of creating and editing a video lecture, creating and adding subtitles, and other ways to ensure inclusiveness of video lectures.

The joint work of the training participants and the specification of the main requirements for inclusive digital courses, combined with a clear vision of the future of VIC, is the basis for ensuring the effectiveness of the educational process in the virtual inclusive campus.
