General Information

The National Institute for Strategic Studies is a partner of SUTE in training competitive specialists of the new generation. The fruitful cooperation between the two partners is implemented in the educational process, training of highly qualified personnel, joint research, scientific and practical conferences and a number of other areas. An important component of the implementation of partnership relations is the holding of guest lectures for higher education students by experts of the National Institute for Strategic Studies.

On 23 February 2024, the Department of Economics and Competition Policy organised a guest lecture on "Formation of a Sustainable Economic Foundation for Ukraine's Victory". The lecturer was Yaroslav Zhalilo, Deputy Director – Head of the Centre for Economic and Social Studies of the National Institute for Strategic Studies, Doctor of Economics, Senior Research Fellow, Honoured Economist of Ukraine.

The lecturer offered the audience an interesting and dynamic format of work. At the beginning of the lecture, Mr Yaroslav systematised the consequences of Russia's full-scale aggression both for the functioning of the economy and for the sustainability of other spheres of public life, outlined the directions of economic policy implementation and analysed macroeconomic risks under martial law. The lecturer drew attention to the fact that the prospects for sustainable development of Ukraine's economy are associated with the implementation of a number of competitive advantages, including the potential of a number of areas and sectors of the national economy, deepening the level of processing of raw materials, low production costs of a number of goods and services. The lecturer focused the audience's attention on the ability of Ukrainian enterprises to integrate into global value chains and produce a range of products that are competitive on world markets.

At the end of the lecture, the students had the opportunity to hear meaningful answers to a number of questions about the prospects for maintaining macroeconomic stability, creating prospects for the economy to reach a sustainable growth trajectory, and the prospects for strengthening the institutional capacity of state institutions.

The event was attended by students, postgraduates and academic staff of SUTE.

The Department of Economics and Competition Policy and SUTE higher education students thank Yaroslav Zhalilo for the brilliant lecture, the relaxed atmosphere of communication and the great opportunity to expand the horizons of knowledge in the field of providing the economic basis for Ukraine's victory.
