Business game “Politics is you! How to start your own political career”

General Information

As part of the Day of the Faculty of Economics, Management and Psychology on March 25, 2024, the Department of Public Administration organized a business game called Politics is you! How to start your own political career. The organizers of the event were PhD in Public Administration, Associate Professor of the Department Iryna Dynnyk, PhD in Public Administration, Associate Professor of the Department Nataliia Mirko and PhD in Economics, Associate Professor of the Department, People's Deputy of Ukraine of the 8th convocation Andrii Shynkovych.

The event was attended by students who obtained the degree of higher education “Bachelor” under the educational programs “Public Administration” and “Municipal Management”, as well as other invited guests.

Opening the event, the Head of the Department, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Natalia Novikova reminded the meeting participants of the success story of Margaret Thatcher, who in conservative Great Britain, being a fragile girl from a provincial town, reached the highest heights in politics and showed high patriotism and qualification as a politician with the introduction of reforms in the form of “shock therapy”. According to this belief, today’s students are tomorrow's reformers, politicians and civil servants of the new formation, whose fate will be the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine.

Implementing the tasks set during the event, participants from the report of A. Shynkovych learned about training methods and principles of building a political career for a civil servant, local self-government employee, deputy of the local council, and people's deputy of Ukraine. The participants of the meeting were also joined by N. Mirko, who emphasized in her report the importance of protecting the legal rights and interests of a person and a citizen in the public administration system. In the process of taking part in the quizzes “My Parliament – I understand and influence” and “Give the Council a chance”, conducted by I. Dynnyk, students had the opportunity to self-assess their knowledge in the field of public administration.

Certificates will be sent to all participants of the online event.
