All-Ukrainian scientific and practical internet conference "Financial institutions - modern challenges and new opportunities"

General Information

On March 21, 2024, the Department of Banking organized and conducted the All-Ukrainian scientific and practical internet conference "Financial Institutions - Modern Challenges and New Opportunities". More than 50 people took part in the event: teachers, students, graduate students and practitioners - stakeholders of the university. The conference was solemnly opened by Anzhelika HERASYMENKO, vice-rector for scientific and pedagogical work and international relations of SUTE, Tetyana KANIEVA, dean of the Faculty of Finance and Accounting, and Nataliya SHULHA, head of the Department of Banking, noting the importance of holding a scientific event in the process of European integration of the financial market of Ukraine under the influence external challenges and threats in today's conditions.

Thematic panels of the conference covered such areas as monetary and financial policy of the state; regulation of activity and functioning of financial institutions; services of financial institutions; as well as accounting and auditing problems in financial institutions. Interesting reports were heard at the plenary session:

  • Viktor GORBACHOV, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of JSC "Altbank", regarding the regulatory requirements of artificial intelligence in Ukraine;
  • Liudmyla HERBYCH, associate professor of SUTE, regarding digital technologies in combating money laundering;
  • Serhii SAVLUK, associate professor of SUTE, regarding DIGITAL TWIN FINANCE in financial services;
  • Hennadii BORTNIKOV, leading researcher of DNNU "Academy of Financial Management", about the challenges of sustainable finance for commercial banks;
  • Bohdan FESYUK, NBU specialist, regarding the specifics of currency interventions during martial law;
  • Liudmyla ZHURAHOVSKA, associate professor at SUTE, and Serhii Lyashenko, student of higher education at SUTE, regarding Ukraine's attraction of currency resources on international capital markets.

It is worth noting that the participants of the event actively discussed the reports they heard, which revealed the current state of functioning of financial institutions in the conditions of new challenges and opportunities for the domestic economy.

Based on the results of the conference, a collection of theses will be published on the SUTE website.
