The scientific activity of the tourism and recreation department is planned, organized and carried out in accordance with the requirements of the laws of Ukraine "On Education", "On Higher Education", "On Scientific and Scientific and Technical Activity" and is an integral part of the educational process and its scientific basis. The planning and organization of scientific work is carried out taking into account the personal scientific interests of the department's staff, the needs of the university and business requirements.

The strategic directions of scientific work are: the investigations of prerequisites and determinants of tourism and resort-recreational activities development in the frames of Ukrainian law and global challenges of social development; transformational processes in the field of tourism and resort-recreational activities; problems of optimizing tourism and resort-recreational activities of Ukraine under Ukrainian law; organizational and management aspects of tourist and resort-recreational activities implementation, management of tourist and resort-recreational activities for enterprises with different ownership; monitoring and analysis of modern trends in the world market of tourist and resort-recreational activities; formation of an effective mechanism of tourist and resort-recreational activities for different enterprises; development of innovative strategies for domestic enterprises in the field of tourism and resort-recreational activities under Ukrainian law.
